Taylor Swift 2016 album release date, news: Singer celebrates 10th anniversary of first album as fans anticipate her next project

Taylor Swift returned to the stage for her Formula One U.S. Grand Prix performance this weekend, which marked the first time that the singer has performed live this year. The 26-year-old sang her top hits which made the crowd go wild, and she even performed her and ex Calvin Harris’ song, “This is What You Came For.” Now, fans are wondering if the “Shake It Off” hitmaker is about to release a new album this month since it has been two years since she released her last project.

It was previously claimed that Swift might release a new album this month as the singer has dropped new music every two years since she released her self-titled debut album 10 years ago. Her last album, “1989,” was released in October 2014, and it was said that Swift’s affinity for the number 13 means that she could release the album on Oct. 23, 2016, since the digits of the said date add up to 13. But the date came and went, and no announcement was made about a new album.

However, fans are hopeful that the singer will release new music next month, and the next target date is said to be Sunday, Nov. 13. Swift has yet to comment on the rumors and is keeping mum about a new album, but the singer took to Instagram on Tuesday to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her first album titled “Taylor Swift” which was released on Oct. 24, 2006.

The “Blank Space” singer posted a throwback photo of her playing guitar. In the shot, Swift is dressed in blue jeans, a light blue sweatshirt, and her curly hair is tied back in a high ponytail. It was captioned, “10 years ago today, my first album came out. I couldn’t be more grateful today, thinking back on how much fun we’ve had and how you’ve encouraged me to change and grow.”

For now, fans will have to wait and see if the “Bad Blood” singer will announce a new album next month. Stay tuned for more news about Taylor Swift’s new album.
