The teaser trailer for season 11 of “Supernatural” is here and it shows bloodier, darker and more dramatic plots ahead.
For the first time in recent seasons of the long-running series, Sam Winchester asks some help from God saying, “If you can hear me God, we need your help. This is my fault and I don’t know how to fix it.”
During season ten’s finale, Sam alongside brother Dean released an unknown force called Darkness into the world after they wiped off the Mark of Cain and killed Death. The premiere episode will pick up exactly from the scene where they were being sucked into the void while inside the Impala.
The footage also seems to reveal that Crowley survives the threat posed by Castiel when he was cursed by Rowena to kill her son no matter the consequence. However, the latter may find it difficult to snap out of the bewitchment as he is depicted to be chained and struggling with a blood-stained face.
In an interview with Zap2It, Jared Padelecki who plays Sam shared that episode one titled “Out of the Darkness, Into the Fire,” will have some flashbacks to show “some strange going on.”
While executive producer Robert Singer said that they will tackle what the pre-biblical Darkness really is, “That’s what we’re going to find out and that’s what we deal with in the first episode. We identify the Darkness into certain extent and sort of set-up the template for the year.”
Showrunner Jeremy Carver teases that even though the brothers want to defeat the Big Bad, they will confront some figures from their past that have them forming “unexpected and unholy alliances” involving significant characters who will have “personal ramifications.”
With the “unknowingness” the new villain brings, he mentioned that even angels in the Heaven and demons from Hell are scared of what the entity could do. He added that Castiel will be in a “vulnerable” state as he tries to find his mojo back while overcoming the spell.
Supernatural returns October 7 in CW.
