After a successful first season of “Supergirl,” fans are waiting to hear more about what the second season of the DC series has in store, especially now that it has moved to The CW.
The most recent addition to television’s DC Extended Universe is “Supergirl,” whose titular character is played by Melissa Benoist. The character, also known as Kara Danvers, brought an interesting vibe to the DC Universe, as it presented another side to the DC Comics that has yet to be explored in television.
In the upcoming season, a new character will be joining Supergirl. It was announced that fans will get to see Superman himself in the series. The cousin of Supergirl was mentioned in the first season but the Man of Steel has yet to make an appearance.
According to the series, Supergirl came to Earth in order to help her cousin, Superman. However, she unfortunately got stuck in space, delaying her arrival to Earth. When she arrived, her cousin had already grown up and no longer needed her help.
With that, there is much excitement regarding his appearance in the upcoming season. In addition, there is a lot of hype regarding Warner Bros.’ choice in who will portray the role. It was confirmed that Tyler Hoechlin will be the one playing the role of Superman in the upcoming season.
Fans of “Teen Wolf” are especially excited since the heartthrob played Derek Hale in the MTV series. However, there has yet to be any additional information about Hoechlin’s casting. It was just stated that fans will get to see him in the first two episodes of “Supergirl” season 2.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg spoke to Deadline and expressed his enthusiasm regarding Hoechlin’s casting. He said, “Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman. We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character.”
