A major crossover event of all the DC Comics Television shows on The CW will be coming later this year, probably by December, as teased by The CW President Mark Pedowtiz. This will involve “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” and the newest show that recently moved to the network form CBS, “Supergirl.”
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Pedowtiz teased that a new crossover will be coming to the network soon. He even teased it to be as “our biggest one ever,” seeing that it now involves a wider and larger world of superheroes.
“Just imagine what our superhero crossover episode is going to look like come December,” Pedowitz told the reporters at the recent presentation of fall season shows. “Next season, ‘Arrow,’ ‘The Flash,’ ‘Legends of Tomorrow,’ and now ‘Supergirl’ will join forces in our annual crossover event, our biggest ever.”
Still as part of the recently held unveiling of their upcoming fall season schedule, the network executive was asked about how the series might see significant changes now that it has moved to a new home network. While he was not able to give specifics about what to expect, he did say something that seem to shown the interest of the network for the series in the first place”Supergirl” should have always been with The CW from the beginning.
“We are sitting down with Greg Berlanti and his team next week or so,” Pedowitz said. “We have a rough idea where they’re heading and, because our working relationship with Greg, we’re confident they understand what our needs are. As for the tone or tonality of the series, they did have a pretty successful series. The fact it’s now moved to The CW, where it should have been in the first place, I don’t think it will have a big impact on the tone.”
“Supergirl” will air Mondays on The CW when it comes back for its new season later this year. No word yet on possible recasting.
