For now, no final word has been released regarding which new DLC characters will come out for “Super Smash Bros. 4,” but Shovel Knight is a definite favorite among Smashers. However, while game company Nintendo remains silent on the matter, “Blue Knight” creator Yacht Club Games has already quashed rumors, saying that the character cannot be played on the “Super Smash” platform and will not be a part of the “Super Smash Bros. 4” DLC as yet.
Even so, included or not, the character’s popularity is so immense that “Super Smash” gaming fans keep on pushing for Shovel Knight to become the next star in “Super Smash Bros. 4.”
Right now, the game already has a whopping list of 50 characters taken from Nintendo and other video games. The upcoming addition of new fighters will make this collection even bigger.
At the conclusion of the Smash Ballot on Oct. 3, the following most requested characters have been voted on by fans, according to Event Hubs: an Inkling from “Splatoon”; King K. Rool of “Donkey Kong Country”; Dixie Kong also from “Donkey Kong Country”; Isaac from “Golden Sun”; and Ridley from “Metroid.” Nintendo has also been given a go signal by Microsoft that it can use Banjo-Kazoole in the upcoming game.
As with any new patch for video games, fans have raided files in the 1.1.1 patch, and this patch was seen to have just three potential characters and stage slots, which may mean that only three new characters will be added. It will be a tough choice then to select which characters get to join the final ranks of “Super Smash Bros. 4.”
So far, it has only been update patch 1.1.2 that has been released to fix a glitch for Diddy Kong for the 3DS and Wii U platforms. As to the final three new DLCs, only time will tell.
