“Suits” season 6 officially heads to unexplored territory as Mike (Patrick J. Adams) starts his prison sentence and the lawyers at Pearson Specter Litt try to rebuild the firm.
The USA Network has released the official synopsis for season 6 of “Suits.” Their press release reads, “Season six picks up immediately following Mike Ross’ plea deal, as he begins his two-year sentence for conspiracy to commit fraud. Having spared his colleagues at Pearson Specter Litt, Mike will face the harsh reality of prison life while Harvey (Gabriel Macht), Jessica (Gina Torres), Louis (Rick Hoffman), Donna (Sarah Rafferty), and Rachel (Meghan Markle) deal with the fact that their once-bustling firm is now a ghost town.”
Last week, “Suits” also released the first teaser for the upcoming season. While the teaser was less than a minute, it gives viewers a first look inside prison. The clip also features the scene where Mike gets his head shaved and his first walk inside the prison. While these scenes are playing, there is also a recall of pivotal conversations that happened in the final moments of last season. Mike, in order to save Harvey and Jessica, decided to take a plea deal not knowing that the jury had released a verdict of not guilty.
Season 5 of the hit legal drama was full of dramatic moments. The season saw Harvey suffering from panic attacks, Daniel Hardman trying to take over the firm and the most epic storyline of all Mike’s secret finally coming out.
The sixth season will then return with a new premise. The series, mostly set in corporate America, will now have to make some space in order to feature Mike’s life inside prison. “Suits” will now show the aftermath of Mike’s conviction.
As of now, everything is possible given that the original premise that ran the show Mike pretending to be a lawyer has already been resolved. Given this, it may be a little bit difficult to predict where the storylines go. However, some of the most notable theories include Rachel being pregnant with Mike’s baby and Harvey not giving up on finding a way to get Mike out as soon as possible.
Season 6 of “Suits” will be part of the USA Network’s summer primetime lineup. It will premiere on July 13 at 9 p.m. ET.
