Legal drama “Suits” is currently on their much deserved rest after a very emotionally and intellectually draining second half of season 5. In the end, Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and the rest of the Pearson, Specter, Litt hard hitters were not able to save Mike (Patrick J. Adams) from being exposed and eventually going to jail.
Coming back next season will be a huge challenge for series creator Aaron Korsh who previously admitted to being in uncharted territory in the next installment. Website Carter Matt posds the question on how Mike’s fate should be handled in season 6. It cited that if Mike gets released almost instantly from the prison, it will counter the almost season long battle of keeping him out there. On the other hand, if they decide to keep him locked behind bars, the impact will be massive in terms of storytelling. But one compelling question is that if Mike stays away from the firm, will Harvey, Jessica (Gina Torres) and Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) be able to rebuild the firm without him.
Korsh has already been adamant that when the show returns this summer, Mike will still be in prison, the only question is for how long and how it will affect the other storylines in the show.
In the meantime, while fans are waiting for the show’s come back, “Suits” was able to make a long lasting impression via the last episode of season 5. One of which was the intense intimate scene between Mike and Rachel (Meghan Markle) the night before they were supposedly getting married. It turned out that the sequence has also undergone some re-writes from Korsh.
“In addition to [church scene], the sex scene that [Mike and Meghan Markle’s Rachel] have where basically they decide to get married, that was completely different in the first draft,” Korsh revealed to Starpulse.com.
“It was not as passionate or intimate, and we thought, ‘You know what? We need to see the connection that these two have before he goes away to prison,'” the writer further detailed.
“Suits” season 6 is rumored to be back in the later half of June.
