Perhaps not to the surprise of anyone, Ken Masters was previously announced to be included in the roster of warriors in the upcoming CAPCOM game, Street Fighter V.
While his presence in the game may not be surprising at all, what is surprising is that the Ken Masters on Street Fighter V is a totally revamped version of the classic character gamers have been with for years now. For those who would like to stick to the character’s classic look, CAPCOM will also be releasing classic costumes for a number of characters.
In the reveal trailer posted through the official Street Fighter YouTube channel, one may mistake Ken for another new character in the early seconds. With his new hairstyle, and a totally new design in clothing, the new Ken is really far from the classic Ken that gamers have been used to. His moves and skills set has also been tweaked a little, as well as the effects and animation styles for his techniques.
The announcement of Ken Masters of the upcoming game was part of the San Diego Comic-Con reveals and announcements. The Street Fighter SDCC panel was held on July 9, at 11:45AM, on Room 6BCF, and was moderated by Capcom’s Francis Mao. Street Fighter franchise executive producer Yoshinori Ono was the panel’s special guest. Additionally, a first look at all the must-have Street Fighter and SFV-licensed products and merchandise was made.
Previously, Capcom and Sony also announced an upcoming beta testing period of the upcoming fifth instalment of the hit fighting game franchise, which will allow (possibly selected) players to get their hand on the game early on, prior to its official public release. An Alpha test period will begin on July 23. Officially announced characters include Cammy, Birdie, Ryu, Chun-Li, M. Bison and Charlie.
Street Fighter V will come to the PS4 and PC early 2016.
