It looks like two new faces are joining the cast of “Stranger Things” for its second season.
Reports say Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery will be playing major roles in the show, so that means fans will see them a lot in season 2. Sink will portray Max, a tough girl who acts more like a boy in the ’80s, while “Power Rangers” actor Montgomery will be playing Billy, Max’s older step-brother and a violent and unpredictable youth.
Last month, “Stranger Things” executive producer Shawn Levy told The Hollywood Reporter that new cast members would join the show in season 2.
“There’s definitely a handful of really compelling new characters this season, but absolutely servicing the core group first and foremost,” he said. “Like the show itself, it’s multigenerational new characters and really, really intriguing ones.”
The publication also stated that the show’s creators were looking for three actors to fill the roles of Max, Billy, and Roman. Now that two of the roles have been cast, who is going to portray Roman?
Meanwhile, it appears not everyone was happy with the casting choice. And for some reason, these fans started attacking Finn Wolfhard, the actor who plays Mike Wheeler, even though he wasn’t the one responsible for the casting. After a number of tweets appeared saying the two white actors shouldn’t have been cast, Wolfhard apparently had enough and he told everyone to calm down.
This goes to show that there is just no way to please everybody. Just take a look at the comments section of Wolfhard’s tweet.
In other news, The Hollywood Reporter also revealed that Joe Kerry and Noah Schnapp, the actors playing Steve Harrington and Will Byers respectively, will be getting more screen time next season because the two recurring cast members have been promoted to series regulars.
“Stranger Things” season 2 will premiere sometime in 2017 on Netflix.
