Steam Winter Sale date leaks, news: Sale expected to start on Dec. 22

A lot of people are anticipating the upcoming Winter Steam Sales as it will give them the chance to get their most desired games at heavily discounted prices. As such, people got excited when the start date of the sales have been purportedly leaked.

According to the PC Gamer, a thread in the NeoGAF forums contained an image speculated to be lifted from a developers-only group, saying that the sale will start around December 22 at 9:50 a.m. PST. Unfortunately, the source is unverified, but it does make a few points.

Firstly, the most obvious point is that the patterns dictate that there will be a Steam Winter Sale sometime during this month. Furthermore, the person who posted the image was able to correctly predict at least one Steam Sale in the past. Also, as fans can remember, the last Christmas sale started on Dec. 22 last year, so there is a high chance for it to start at the same date this year as well.

Additionally, regardless of the reputability of the leak, there is a high percentage for its information to be correct. After all, it is no question that Steam users want another sale, as most players, despite the fact that the Autumn sales just got finished, are already gearing up for another one.

It is worth noting, however, that the leak is not the first one to ever be posted for the Winter Steam Sales, according to Gaming Bolt. Also, it is unlikely for it to be the last one, too, as players will always want to speculate whether or not their most anticipated sale will start at all. Regardless, while a Dec. 22 start date is increasingly becoming more likely, most people will just have to wait for a few more weeks before they know the truth about it.
