After a four-month break, Star Wars Rebels season 2 will return on Disney XD starting October 14. The premiere episode, which first aired in June, showed Ahsoka Tano and Darth Vader battling the Ghost crew. Fans will be able to watch familiar characters from the Clone Wars in the first episode of the second season, entitled “The Lost Commanders.”

The show returns with the Rebels looking for new allies to battle against the evil Empire. According to the Star Wars Rebels Blog, “With the help of Ahsoka Tano, the crew of the Ghost enlists some old friends: ex-clone troopers who fought in the Clone Wars. As the Rebels grow in number, so do their enemies. New Inquisitors are dispatched by Darth Vader and sent to crush any threat of rebellion. Through dangerous rescue missions, thrilling space chases, and spectacular lightsaber duels the bond of our Rebel crew will be put to the test like never before.”

The second season of “Star Wars Rebels” will also feature an episode by “Star Wars: Rogue One” screenwriter Gary Whitta. Sarah Michelle Gellar is rumored to voice Princess Lea while Sam Witwer will lend his voice to Emperor Palpatine.

A report from Dork Side of the Force states that Dave Filoni and Simon Kinberg plan make Season 2 darker, reminiscent of “The Empire Strikes Back.”

The site also reports that the second season will consist of 20 episodes. Titles and release dates for the upcoming episodes were also unveiled, giving Star Wars fans a glimpse of what might happen in the upcoming episodes. The second episode called “Relics of the Old Republic” will air on October 21. The next episode, showing on October 28, will be entitled “Always Two There Are.” The first two episodes will be celebrating their premiere at the New York Comic Con on October 8.

Meanwhile, fans who want to catch up on the previous season can grab a copy of the first season of Star Wars Rebels (comprised of 15 episodes), now out on Blu Ray.
