'Star Wars: Episode 8' spoilers, rumors: Han Solo to appear? Yoda puppets might be used in upcoming film

The collective gasps of “Star Wars” fans echoed around the world when Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) drove his lightsaber through the heart of his father, Han Solo (Harrison Ford). While fans thought that was probably the last time the smuggler was going to appear onscreen, recent rumors seem to suggest otherwise.

An article on Morning Ledger claimed that Kylo might have joined the First Order to get close to Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) and that Han was also in on the act. The article suggested that Kylo might have somehow bent his lightsaber blade around his father so it would look like he stabbed him.

Now, any “Star Wars” fan will know that the “Kylo is an undercover agent” theory is not new. In fact, this was probably one of the first theories to come out after “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” was shown, so nothing new here. But to bend the blade of his lightsaber to avoid stabbing his father? Is it even plausible? It did look like the blade went right through Han.

A lot of fans are hoping Han will somehow return despite the fact that Ford wanted his character to die. The fact of the matter is until the writers working on the trilogy sequel say otherwise, Han Solo is dead. However, there is still a chance of an appearance in “Star Wars: Episode 8,” but in flashbacks.

Speaking of coming back from the dead, Inverse believes that Yoda (Frank Oz) is going to appear in the upcoming film, not in glowing Force ghost form, but in puppet form.

The source of their report is a Redditor who allegedly overheard a Yoda puppeteer say the original Yoda puppeteers were working on the upcoming film. The publication points out that the Yoda puppet may be used in flashbacks where he is still alive.

“Star Wars: Episode 8” is scheduled to premiere on Dec. 15, 2017.
