'Star Wars: Episode 8' spoilers news: Alleged leaked script reveals Snoke created Anakin Skywalker

“Star Wars” fans have been speculating on the true identity of Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) since the first time he was introduced in “The Force Awakens.” Is he Darth Plagueis? Is he Emperor Palpatine reborn? Is he a Jedi or Padawan learner who survived Order 66? Or is he simply a new character?

While there are close to a dozen theories about his true identity, no one really knows who he is. Well, no one except the writers working on the sequel trilogy, of course. Now, according to reports, a YouTube user has claimed to have read a page of the script for “Star Wars: Episode 8,” and what he revealed can be a game changer if it is true.

According to the video, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) will come face-to-face with Snoke in the upcoming film while Rey (Daisy Ridley) is imprisoned by the latter. Upon meeting Luke, Snoke admits that he is using Rey to lure him there.

They exchange words for a while, then Snoke abruptly shifts the conversation and talks about Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), the man who will later become Darth Vader (David Prowse; voiced by James Earl Jones). Luke asks Snoke how he knew his father and Snoke replies, “What father does not know his own creation?”

This theory is already quite well-known in the “Star Wars” fandom, and chances are this leak is fabricated by a fan who supports the theory. As The Cheat Sheet noted, it’s highly unlikely for Lucasfilm to suddenly become so careless that they will lose part of their script.

While the “leaked script” featured in the video is most likely a hoax, the theory is still plausible for many fans since Anakin is believed to have been conceived by the midi-chlorians. In other words, the Force created him. There’s also the fact that the “Star Wars” saga is supposed to revolve around the Skywalker family.

Of course, all of these are just theories and speculations. Only the writers who are working on the sequel films know the true story, and fans will see the story unfold when the sequels come out in the next few years.

“Star Wars: Episode 8” will be released on Dec. 15, 2017.
