After giving the fans a glimpse of “Star Wars: Battlefront II” during the E3 event, Electronic Arts (EA)’s upcoming game notched a YouTube record this week.
The sequel to “Star Wars: Battlefront” became YouTube’s most viewed E3 2017 game, according to a report from Gamespot. It registered a whopping 7.9 million views from June 9 to 14, thanks to its press conference and multiplayer demo.
“Star Wars: Battlefront II” beat Nintendo’s “Super Mario Odyssey” for the top spot, with the latter acquiring 5.5 million views. It is followed by Insomniac Game’s “Spider-Man” with 4.5 million views at third place. Meanwhile, “FIFA 18” took the fourth spot with four million views. “Need for Speed Payback” rounded out the top five with 3.4 million views.
Other titles that cracked the top 10 include “Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer Reveal” (3.3M), “Forza Motorsport 7” (3.1M), and “Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle” (3M). “South Park: The Fractured But Whole” (2.7M) and “Assassin’s Creed: Origins” (2.6M) complete the list.
One of the biggest takeaways from “Battlefront II’s” E3 presentation is the gameplay trailer that featured Han Solo. The video showed the hero in intense action, staving off enemies who are trying to enter the palace of Theed. Moreover, there was another scene where Han Solo faced off with Darth Maul. In it, the former was giving the villain a body-check.
On the other hand, another trailer showed some high-flying aerial combat scenes featuring a Naboo Starfighter. The sequel’s flight controls are reportedly much better than what its predecessor offered.
Meanwhile, ScreenRant reported that leaked product codes for the upcoming “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” toy line mentioned Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker figures. The leak raised speculations that the two will face off in the upcoming movie. Other names found on the listings include First Order Heavy Assault Walker, Resistance Bomber, First Order Star Destroyer, and Kylo Ren’s TIE aircraft.
