'Star Wars: Battlefront 2' news: fans hope launch will be next year


Fans have been waiting to hear more about the upcoming installment of the “Star Wars: Battlefront” game series.

The hype of the “Star Wars” franchise has yet to end, as there has been a lot of anticipation regarding “Star Wars: Battlefront 2.” The first installment was well-received by players. With that, there is a lot of excitement regarding the follow game.

Though it is still early into the development, fans believe that the upcoming title will be released early next year. The chief financial officer of EA, Blake Jorgensen explained that they plan to release a title a year for the next three years.

Meanwhile, players can enjoy the upcoming downloadable content that EA DICE will release for “Star Wars: Battlefront.” The first of four DLCs for the game was released. Titled “Outer Rim,” the first DLC will be followed by two more before the year ends.

One of the DLC to be released is “Bespin,” which show Cloud City. The DLC will also introduce two new characters named Lando Calrissian and Dengar. According to the “Star Wars” official site, the developers said, “We’re taking players in and around Cloud City, with four new maps for all of our most popular modes. You’ll see AT-ATs in Cloud City, take to the skies in Fighter Squadron, and even spend time in a carbonite chamber. Of course, we’re also adding more blasters and Star Cards, a new game mode, and two new iconic characters we’re really excited about.”

In addition, the new DLC will bring some new features to enhance offline play. Representatives of DICE Mat Everett and Josh Walsh teased the upcoming updates of the game. Everett said, “We will be bringing more offline content to ‘Star Wars Battlefront.’ Once the team is ready to share and reveal those details, we will.”
