Square Enix has released new screenshots as well as plot details for Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness and it promises that the Japanese RPG game will be well worth the wait.
A report by Gematsu indicated that the game will revolve around Leslia Kingdom which is plagued by ferocious animals and a band of thieves known as Eitron. Because of the chaos, the planet will enter ‘The Dark 7 Years.’
According to Techno Buffalo, the planet’s fate will rest in the hands of a hero with exceptional sword skills named Fidel Camuze who teams up with his friend Miki to save the people of Leslia. In their quest to save the planet, they journey through galaxies, meet allies who join them in their quest including Viktor, a Special Forces soldier; Lilia, an amnesiac, and Fiore, a mage who wears a very interesting outfit.
Accoridng to the same report, the good news is that players can use of all the characters in the battle system and it will also introduce long range and short range attacks, as well as new levels of attacks from light to medium. On the defensive side, players can protect themselves with guard and guard counters as well.
Aside from the screenshots, Square Enix also released an extended trailer of the game which was initially released at the SCEJA Press Conference 2015.
The extended version features 45 seconds of additional footage, reported a separate article in Gematsu.
“Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness” is expected to release for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan on Feb. 25, while release dates for North America and Europe are yet to be confirmed.
