Although the release of the upcoming game “Star Fox Zero” has been delayed, Nintendo seems to make sure that fans keep the hype and stay in the loop as they wait for the sixth installment in the franchise.
The company has launched the official Wii U website for the game. Despite being just a teaser with the full site promised to be coming soon, it has some information that may delight its fans. It includes what could be screenshots from the gameplay, the looks of several characters and even an interactive image depicting the installment using the Wii U Game Pad. There are also wallpapers that users can freely download.
The site also lists the plot which reads, “An evil empire has risen and the Lylat system is in danger. As legendary space pilot Fox McCloud, blast through an onslaught of enemy forces to bring peace to the galaxy. In this white-knuckle space shooter, it’ll take more than luck to master the Arwing jet, the Gyrowing flight drone, and the Landmaster tank! You have what it takes. Now prove it.”
There will also be missions concerning General Pepper where players have to use their TV cinematics to fly through the galaxy, identify enemies and shoot them with the aid of advanced flight techniques such as boosting and barrel rolls.
Other features include taking down intergalactic forces and armadas of powerful ships; piloting a wide array of vehicles; honing the skills of the legendary pilot Fox McCloud and earning the chance to have a face-to-face with Andross.
Some details on the site also suggest that the sixth reiteration may be a multiplayer and even have an online functionality as broadband internet access is said to be required to access some of the features. However, it remains to be seen if these elements come into fruition.
Star Fox Zero can now be pre-ordered in the United States and Canada and will be released during first quarter of 2016.
