After giving the public a sneak peek of the scenery for the upcoming “Spider-Man” video game, Insomniac Games confirmed that the game will be huge.

In an engaging exchange on Twitter, the game developers confirmed that their take on New York City will be huge. They have been asked if “Spider-Man’s” map will be bigger than “Witcher 3’s” map. To this, they said: “That’s not a comparison we can really make. It’s several times larger than Sunset City was tho.”

Sunset City was the main setting of Insomniac’s “Sunset Overdrive,” an Xbox One-exclusive game. A report from Destructoid noted that the developers had a lot of room to create a setting that will complement the said game. On the flipside, “Spider-Man” and its NYC setting demanded a more authentic feel to it.

In the game’s E3 2017 presentation, the gameplay demo showcased the iconic web-slinger swinging his way to a construction site. There, he would take on a group of gang members using a combat style that resembles the one in the “Batman: Arkham” video games.

Moreover, there was also a brief appearance from Miles Morales. The said character is the newest person donning the red and blue costume in the comics. It is speculated that Morales will play a role in the video game. However, its extent is yet to be confirmed.

According to the game’s official description, it will feature elements that no one has seen before in a “Spider-Man” game. It will include “unique environmental interactions,” and “new combat and cinematic blockbuster set pieces.”

“This isn’t the Spider-Man you’ve met before, or seen in a movie. This is an experienced Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in New York City,” the description added. Despite his experience, Parker will find himself struggling to strike a balance between his personal life and career while facing the challenges that come with defending NYC.

“Spider-Man” is slated to arrive sometime in 2018, and it will be exclusive for the PlayStation 4 console.
