Sony is apparently not adding anything new to the Xperia Z5’s design, leaked images reveal.
The leaks began with a reveal of the promotional image for the Xperia Z5 Compact, the International Business Times say. Immediately afterwards, the article said, Steve Hemmerstoffer of NWE published a set of leaked images that purportedly portray the Xperia Z5.
Based on the images, the IB Times reported, the Xperia Z5 will not be much different from the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z4 in terms of aesthetics and overall design.
GSM Arena said that the leaked images show that Sony has no plans of ceasing the use of its OmniBalance design philosophy, at least for the Xperia Z5.
The website also said that the leaked images clearly show the fingerprint sensors in the device’s Power button.
The Xperia Z5, based on the image, will also not be carrying the USB Type-C port that has become popular with the current flagships of other brands, Tech Radar noted.
The Xperia Z5, as well as the Xperia Z5 Compact, is expected to debut this year during the IFA event in Berlin in the first week of September.
Reports of the phone’s reveal circulated after an earlier article by Tech Radar revealed that Sony is going to be revealing two devices, the Sony Xperia S60 and S70, in the Berlin event. The article noted that these are most likely code names for what will likely be the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact.
The Tech Radar article noted that the S60 and S70 will have native storage capacities of 32GB.
There are also reports of a third Z5 device, rumored to be the Xperia Z5+, circulating online recently. The Z5+ will allegedly have a display resolution of 4K or 3840×2160 pixels, and will feature Sony’s Trilluminos and Precision Color Rendering technologies. It will also reportedly be powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor by Qualcomm.
