Sony Xperia Z5 news: Pink variant rumored for January release


Sony is said to be preparing a new color version for the current Xperia Z5 flagship smartphone, which will be launched initially for the Chinese market.

Sony is seemingly aiming for a perfectly themed release, as Chinese New Year draws closer as well as the celebration of Valentine’s Day. According to a report by the Xperia Blog, a rumor originating from China claimed that Sony is eyeing a launch of a new color variant for their Xperia Z5 flagship. According to a report, a new pink color variant may be release by the company sometime around late Januarywhich falls in perfect timing as a good gift idea for the upcoming celebrations in February.

The alleged pink Sony Xperia Z5 smartphone will be released initially in Taiwan but will be released in some other countries and regions as well. The Taiwan release of the rumored variant will be done via local mobile carrier Chunghwa Telecom.

To recall the specs, Sony Xperia Z5 sports a 5.2-inch screen with 1080p Full HD resolution. It also has IP68 certification for water and dust proofing protection. What’s more, the device has Sony’s TRILUMINOS display technology and an X-reality Engine technology.

The device runs under an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, Adreno 430 GPU, 4GB worth of RAM, and 32GB worth of built-in internal storageexpandable via an external microSD of up to 200GB.

It features a 23-megapixel rear camera that can record videos of up to a stunning 4K resolution and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and other similar purposes, which can also record videos of up to 1080p Full HD in resolution. It is powered by a 2,900 mAh battery.

Currently, the Sony Xperia Z5 flagship smartphone is available in White, Graphite Black, Green, and Gold colors. Sony has yet to make an official announcement as to the existence of a pink variant for the device.
