Actor Song Joong Ki admits that he wants to get married in his 30s.
According to Asia Times, the star of widely popular Korean drama “Descendants of the Sun” expressed his wish to settle down during his recent Asian tour and fan meet-and-greet in Seoul, South Korea.
Dubbed “The Day We Meet Again,” the event is said to mark Joong Ki’s first fan meeting after he ended his military enlistment. Around 4,000 fans reportedly went to Grand Peace Hall in Kyung Hee University where the tickets sold out quickly on the day that they became available. Joong Ki’s best friend Lee Kwang Soo also made a special appearance.
However, Joong Ki did not reveal how soon fans can expect him to walk down the aisle or to who he may get married to.
Reports claim that the show which debuted earlier this year has put Joong Ki on the global map. Moreover, his fans have become more interested on his personal life. Although he is happy with his celebrity status, Joong Ki apparently shared that he is not too thrilled about the loss of his privacy.
In an interview with Asia One he shared, “To be honest, I’m a little upset these days. My family has been exposed to the media. Some people break into our house. My ex-girlfriend’s photos are circulating online. To say that these are things I need to endure for the sake of celebrity… that’s sad. I want to respectfully request that my private life remain private.”
He also revealed that he learned a lot about dating women because of the series and his character Yoo Shi Jin. “I thought to myself, ‘So this is what you have to do to make your girlfriend happy.’ Our scriptwriter Kim Eun-sook made the character, and I understand why so many female viewers fell in love with him. He says things that women want to hear. If I were like him, I would have been much more popular,” he added.
It remains to be seen if “Descendants of the Sun” will have a second season, but fans may catch Joong Ki in his next film project titled “Gunhamdo” which will start filming in May.
