'Sister Wives' season 8 air date, renewal news: Three of Kody Brown's wives reportedly threatening to quit TLC show

“Sister Wives” appears to be in limbo as TLC has yet to announce a season 8 renewal for the show. While Kody Brown and his wives have encountered several bumps in the road during the previous seasons, it was recently reported that the show might be cancelled as three of Kody’s wives are said to be threatening to quit the show.

According to Life and Style, three of the 48-year-old’s wives are threatening to leave the reality series after Kody discussed the possibility of taking on two new wives.

“Kody is really, really, sweating losing the show and he’s doing everything he can to keep it,” family friend Kendra Pollard said to the magazine.

Life and Style’s cover story claims that things are over between Kody and Robyn, whom he married recently so that she could keep her children. When the show began, Kody was legally married to Meri, but the two had a divorce so that Kody and Robyn could get married. While Kody and Robyn are legally married, he still has relationships with Meri, Janelle, and Christine.

The magazine also claims that two other wives are leaving and that one wife is “already dating.” If the reports are accurate, then it appears that there might not be another season of “Sister Wives,” as an unnamed source told the magazine that even if Kody brings on more women, “TLC knows he’s not well-liked by viewers.”

According to Pollard, Robyn said that if Kody takes on new wives, “she said she’ll leave.”

“This isn’t what she signed up for,” Pollard added. It was said that Kody already has another wife in mind, and that is Robyn’s step-niece and family nanny Mindy Jessop. Pollard said that if the show does not get an eighth season, then that’s when all the wives will leave.

“I can guarantee you that you’re going to see wives leave,” said Pollard. “Kody’s life is flipping upside down.”
