The latest iteration of one of the most iconic life simulation video game franchises is set to conquer mobile devices.
“The Sims Mobile” is now available for download on iOS and Android devices for free. The game, however, is only available in Brazil, at least for the time being. Other markets will likely follow suit soon.
The game doesn’t veer away from the traditional elements of a “Sims” game. Players still get to build family units and oversee their daily lives. Furthermore, players can also interact with others through parties that they can attend to as visitors or host as guests.
The game also features a lot of room to personalize the Sims. Players can customize them “with distinct appearances, hairstyles, outfits, and accessories,” of their liking. Moreover, the can also “add different personality traits and choose their life goals from careers like Fashion Designer, Club DJ, and Doctor, to hobbies like Cooking, Guitar Playing, and Writing,” the official description explains.
As for the homes, players can also dip their creative fingers by choosing the type of decorations, appliances, and furniture. Gamers can also perform and control some of the most mundane activities like thinking while taking a shower or even creating tacos.
“You have the power to shape your Sims’ families over multiple generations. When your Sims accomplish their career goals and retire, you’ll be rewarded with Heirlooms that unlock hobbies and careers for future generations, allowing new Sims to tell deeper stories,” the description adds.
With the acclaimed success of the mainline “Sims” video game, “The Sims Mobile” will have a tall order in following its older sibling’s path to success. “The Sims” joined the World Video Game Hall of Fame in 2016. It joined other legendary titles like “The Legend of Zelda,” “Grand Theft Auto 3,” “Tetris, Pac-Man,” and “Super Mario Bros.,” to name a few.
