'Shameless' season 7 episode 2 spoilers: Frank barricades himself in a bid to start his life over

A lot certainly happened during the season premiere of “Shameless.” Frank (William H. Macy) finally woke up from his coma, Fiona (Emmy Rossum) gave up on relationships, and Lip (Jeremy Allen White) came back from his stint in rehab.

Meanwhile, Debbie (Emma Kenney) resorted to stealing so she could support her baby, and Caleb (Jeff Pierre) is going to be in a world of trouble since Ian (Cameron Monaghan) saw him kiss his ex-girlfriend. Not to be outdone by the others, Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) decided to get circumcised for his girlfriend.

So, what’s in store for the Gallaghers next week? Titled “Swipe, F**k, Leave,” the second episode this season will feature Frank barricading himself on the top floor of the house while he takes his youngest child, Liam (Blake Johnson and Brennan Johnson), under his wing. This goes to show that he may not be ready to disown his entire family after all.

The official synopsis of the upcoming episode also reveals that Fiona will be adopting a new attitude as she starts to relax and run Patsy’s Pies her way. Debbie is also going to get into trouble while stealing those strollers. Is she going to get caught in the act this time?

Apparently, Ian is going to try to become straight, so good luck with that. Carl will also be forced into abstinence thanks to his abrupt decision to get circumcised. It looks like things didn’t go as well as he has planned.

In other “Shameless” news, some publications are surprised that episode two is still going to air next week despite the fact that the second presidential debate will take place on the same day. The debate should attract millions of viewers so the show will face an uphill battle.

CarterMatt points out that Showtime does not really rely on live numbers much, and the studio is satisfied as long as viewers watch the episode at some point.

“Shameless” season 7 episode 2 airs on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime.
