Season 2 of the Netflix series “Sense8” is slowly catching up and getting more and more attention. The positive feedback towards the first season has allowed the showrunners to kick off the production of the new season, with reports that the entire cast have endured traveling to several countries and locations for its filming.

Several of the cast members, including Max Riemelt, who plays the role of Wolfgang in the series, went to Chicago to resume filming some of the scenes. He joined actress Jamie Clayton in teasing that the upcoming season has the makings of becoming a full-blown hit. Clayton told the Chicago Sun Times, “It’s fast, it’s mad, it’s amazing, it’s sexy, it’s raw. Oh my god, it’s so many things. There’s so much action.”

Meanwhile, Toby Onwumere and Terrence Mann are going to have significant roles in the new season, with the former enlisted as replacement to Aml Ameen. Per Christian Times, he will be creating his own characterization of Capheus in season 2. Other than those two, Sikandar Kher will also be included in the cast, but the Indian actor’s role, he admits, is not as big.

The American science fiction web series is a creation of Lana and Lilly Wachowski, in cooperation with J. Michael Straczynski. It tells the story of eight strangers coming from different parts of the world, who all of a sudden experience something that turned them into “sensates.” In the series, sensates are described as humans who, although lacking prior connection or relation, have become emotionally and mentally linked with each other. They’re forced to work with each other in order to defeat a group trying to eliminate them.

Although lacking the usual hype and expensive promotion, the first season became a hit, so the next season has big shoes to fill.

Season 2 of “Sense8” premieres this December on Netflix.
