The surprisingly popularly science fiction drama television series “Sense8” from Netflix is up for a second season, after the success and a bunch of favorable reviews in its maiden season. While everything is still in the early development stage as of the moment, there is high anticipation of a more daring storyline.
The first season was basically an introduction of the “sensates” and how each of their lives was connected to each other. While there was already a sign of sexuality and violence in the first installment, viewers expect a more serious plot with more intimacy.
Regular cast member Aml Ameen, who portrays Capheus, recently exited the series after a supposed conflict with co-creator Lilly Wachowski. Regardless, there is hope that the new season will be geared towards developing characters with stronger and imposing personalities. Proof of this is the Max Riemelt’s revelation via BuzzFeed, where he said that both the action and drama in the second season are going to be raised to another level. Riemelt plays the German outlaw Wolfgang in the show.
“Sense8” is as unique as any sci-fi television series can get. The story is centered on eight total strangers who embrace different cultures and come from different parts of the world. In one mundane instance, all of them suddenly visualize the violent death of a woman named Angelica, eventually realizing they all belong to a class called “sensates.” In the series, sensates are classified as normal people who have a unique emotional and mental connection to each other and are able to communicate using that skill. All throughout the series, all of them are guided by someone named “Jonas” against another group called “Whispers,” who intend to kill them.
Meanwhile, rumors have it that the next season also will be featuring a love triangle involving Kala (Tina Desai), Wolfgang, and Rajan Rasal (Purab Kohli), with rumors that Rajan is likely going to transform into a villain.
“Sense8” season 2 is already confirmed but Netflix has not provided an official air date as of this posting.
