The science fiction drama from streaming site Netflix, “Sense8” is definitely getting a sophomore season as it is currently filming in 15 different locations around the globe. Moreover, it is said that one of its showrunners, Lily Wachowski, will be taking some time off from her directorial stint after the completion of her gender transformation.
“Sense8’s” first season finale clearly hinted that there will be another season for the show. Fans can still remember the final moments of season 1 where Wolfgang Bogdanow (Max Riemelt) killed his uncle and his cohorts and right after he revealed to Kala Dandekar (Tina Desai) that he also murdered his dad when he was young. Meanwhile, the latter, together with the other sensates, was on a mission to rescue Riley Gunnarsdttir (Tuppence Middleton). However, the so-called Whispers (Terrence Mann) entered Will Gorski’s (Brian J. Smith) mind which resulted in Will drugging himself with enough sedatives that would put him to a deep sleep, with the scene ending with the eight sensates meeting for the first time on a boat.
Kala, after discovering Wolfgang’s murderous past, realized that she didn’t see a future with the latter; hence, there are now speculations going around that season 2 will feature more on the love triangle among Wolfgang, Kala, and Rajan Rasal (Purab Kohli).
Riemelt was previously interviewed by BuzzFeed where he hinted that the upcoming season will be pushing the boundaries as it will feature more sex, violence, and basically everything the show has to offer.
It was also earlier reported that one of the Wachowskis, Lily, will be having a well-deserved rest and her sister, Lana, will be taking over the show’s forthcoming season. Furthermore, Jamie Clayton, who plays Nomi Marks, lauded Lana saying that her energetic aura on the set is so infectious that she is left amazed whenever she is around the other Wachowski.
“Sense8” is slated for a 2017 release.
