The Xbox One adventure game “Sea of Thieves” is one of the most anticipated titles of 2018. Microsoft has revealed that the game, which is due in spring, will give eager players a chance to get their hands on the exciting open seas adventures with an upcoming closed beta for Windows 10 later this month.

The beta program will begin on Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. Eastern and will end on Jan. 29, 3 p.m. Eastern. Players who have registered in the game’s Insider Program prior to Dec. 1, as well as those who have pre-ordered the upcoming game, will be able to join the closed beta.

According to the game’s developer, Rare, the beta version will not only give players a sample of the full game, but it will also offer a tailor-made experience that will give them a glimpse to what pirate life is all about.

Players who pre-ordered the game will get the beta version in their library 24 hours before it begins. Those who pre-ordered the game from a local retail store will need to redeem a code which will also grant them the Black Dog cosmetic pack. After redeeming, the “Sea of Thieves” beta will also appear in their library one day before it begins.

Participants in the closed beta will then need to download and install the beta version before they can play.

“Sea of Thieves” is an open-world adventure game in which players can take on the roles of pirates, exploring various locations and embarking on different exciting quests. Players will be tasked to complete missions in order to become a Pirate Legend.

The game also includes cooperative elements, where a number of players can form a pirate crew and plunder other ships and discover hidden treasures.

“Sea of Thieves” will be released on March 20 for Xbox One and PC, with the title supporting cross-play between the platforms.
