Lea Michele confirms that she will return for the second season of Fox’s horror comedy series “Scream Queens.”

The singer-actress made an appearance in the Universal Studios Hollywood to have a chat with “Extra” host Mario Lopez, “I am 100% returning to ‘Scream Queens,'” she said. “I’m so excited… It was so fun going from ‘Glee’ to ‘Scream Queens’ and getting to play this crazy character… We’re going to start filming in the summer. I can’t wait to go back,” she revealed.

The interview marks her first one after her recent break-up with boyfriend Matthew Paetz. Michele also said that she is focusing on herself as of the moment, “I’m working on me. I love working out and it makes me feel so great. I’m working on my second record as well. Should hopefully come out at the end of this year,” she added.

According to Los Angeles Times, the satirical show will move from New Orleans to California as one of the nine television projects that were selected to receive state tax credits by the California Film Commission. It will allow the producers to offset as much as 25 percent of the qualified production costs.

“Every new TV series we attract or retain brings long-term, high-wage jobs that would otherwise go elsewhere,” the commission executive director Amy Lemisch said in a statement about the expanded tax credit program.

When it comes to the plot, reports claim that the setting may take place in a hospital with Niecy Nash also coming back to reprise her breakout character, officer Denise Hemphill and Emma Roberts as Chanel. Roberts shared that she hopes there will be “four hot doctors” who will be introduced to the series.

Keke Palmer who portrayed Zayday Williams in season 1 also voiced out her desire to appear in the new installment. However, it remains to be seen if this comes to fruition as she reportedly have not gotten any word yet from the production team.

“Scream Queens” by co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk will start filming for the sophomore season in July.
