The IFA trade show has come and gone, but there is still no sign of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. Instead of the tablet, the South Korean company introduced the Gear S3 smartwatch and a new line of appliances. So, when is the unveiling of the Galaxy Tab S3? When will it be released?
Rumors of the tablet’s unveiling at the IFA initially came out when Samsung’s Colombian website accidentally made a post saying that the Galaxy Tab S3 would be launched in Berlin along with the Galaxy Note 7. That post turned out to be false as both devices were not introduced. Was the post an accident or a prank?
As of this moment, there are no other rumors that hint of an announcement coming before the year ends. However, if the tablet’s rumored specs are true, then it will be worth the wait.
The Galaxy Tab S3 is supposed to come in two variants an 8-inch version and 9.7-inch version. Both variants will be equipped with Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor, a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with a 2048p screen resolution, 3 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded to 128 GB via microSD slot.
Reports say that the tablet will also come with an Android Marshmallow operating system even though the Android Nougat is now available. Other features include the TouchWiz touch interface, an 8MP back camera, a 2-MP front camera, and a Micro-USB port instead of a USB-C port.
Aside from the hardware improvements, the new Galaxy Tab may also be slimmer compared to its predecessors.
As of this moment, Samsung has yet to announce that the Galaxy Tab S3 is under development. Until they make a confirmation, all reports concerning the tablet are rumors at best, so readers are advised to take everything with a grain of salt.
