The new and upcoming Galaxy S7 that will roll out sometime in 2016 is bound to have better specs than their outgoing flagship. What is known so far with the upcoming model is it will be powered by the Exynos 8 Octa 8890, as unveiled by Samsung. Since the company is also one of the world leaders in advanced semiconductor technology, they have developed the next processor that will power their next smartphone flagship.
According to Samsung, their Exynos 8 Octa 8890 features a custom designed CPU with a 64-bit architecture. The chip is basically the company’s second finest application processor that is certain to elevate the performance of their next generation mobile phones. The smartphone maker even claims that the new chip is 30 percent better in terms of performance and 10 percent better in terms of power efficiency when compared to their Exynos 7 Octa.
The Galaxy S7 will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. An S7 Edge will also be available. However, it is uncertain if Samsung will apply the curve technology on the top and bottom part of their handset as well.
Since there are no other official specs or features announced by Samsung, it has been speculated that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will have three variants the S7, S7 Edge, and S7 Plus. The S7 Edge will reportedly have a bigger screen size than the S6 Edge.
