The Samsung Galaxy S7 active, the rugged and weather-proof version of the current Samsung Galaxy S7 flagship series, recently had its full device specifications leaked. The leak of the alleged specifications revealed that the device might be larger than the previous “active” version and even heavier.
According to Venture Beat, the new and upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 active is said to be larger than its predecessor, the Galaxy S6 active. The device, while no specific dimensions measurements were given, was reported to be thicker at 9.9 mm, almost a millimeter thicker than the Galaxy S6 active measured 8.6 mm.
The device was also tipped to be heavier at 185 grams. To recall, the Galaxy S6 active only weighed 170 grams.
While the device was tipped to be bigger than its previous version, the display size will remain the samesuggesting that the increase in physical size will be used for other purposes than display.
The display of the Samsung Galaxy S7 active is said to be 5.1 inches and will be a Super AMOLED display with 1440 x 2560 pixels Quad HD resolutionsame as that of the Galaxy S6 and S7.
The device will run under a QUALCOMM Snapdragon 820 chipsetin a system-on-chip build for itwith a quad-core CPU and a possible Adreno 530 GPU.
Moreover, the S7 active will reportedly sport 4GB RAM and a 32GB ROM combo, with microSD card support for up to 200GB. The device is said to be powered by a 4,000 mAh battery and will boot on the new Android Marshmallow 6.0.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 active is expected to be exclusively available via AT&T.
