Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini news: Specs leaked by online retailer; device to be released in March?


An online store listed the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini and posted on the site a possible release window for the upcoming device.

It can be recalled that there were leaked images of the phone that came out way back in July. However, these did not reveal specific details about the phones’ specs and functionalities.

On the other hand, Letstango was the first website to publish details about the phone. It has since taken down the page for the product.

A report by Gadget NDTV noted the details of the page before it was deactivated and was able to share the much coveted details.

While the specs are yet unofficial, the Letstango page claimed that the device will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop, will have a 4.6-inch Super Amoled display, and Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

It will also utilize a hexa-core Qualcomm processor believed to be a Snapdragon 808 with Adreno 418 GPU and 2GB RAM.

In terms of media, the Galaxy S6 will have a 15-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front snapper. In terms of connectivity, the device will support 4G LTE Cat 6, A-GPS, USB 3.0, Bluetooth v4.0, Beidou, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and Wi-Fi Direct.

The online shop also claimed that the handset will have 16 GB of built-in storage and use a non removable Li-on battery.

The Galaxy S6 Mini is also expected to feature a fingerprint sensor certified by PayPal and feature Samsung Pay support, Qi wireless charging, S Voice natural language commands and dictation, ANT+ support, air gestures, as well as document editing apps.

Letstango also hinted that the device may be released in time for the MWC 2015 trade show in March 2016. It is also rumored that the company is considering the release of the Galaxy S7 around the same time.
