Tech enthusiasts have set their eyes on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 after Galaxy S8’s successful launch.
Samsung has not made any announcements about the device’s release date. However, many expect that the phablet will roll out in the second half of 2017. In a press release by Samsung, the tech giant mentioned they will unveil another flagship product later in the year.
“For the mobile business, market competition is expected to intensify in the second half. Against this backdrop, the company will strive to maintain profitability through robust sales of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ and the launch of a new flagship smartphone in the second half,” read the statement.
The “flagship smartphone” will likely be the Galaxy Note 8. Many expect it to feature some of the key specs carried by the Galaxy S8 and S8+ models. In past years Samsung had unveiled their phablets, including the notorious Galaxy Note 7, toward the second half. The good thing about releasing the product several months after the Galaxy S8 is that there is room to improve on the flagship smartphone’s “weaknesses.”
A report from ValueWalk listed some of the possible tweaks Samsung may apply in the Note 8. The report indicated that the South Korean tech company might make changes for the device’s fingerprint sensor. Samsung positioned the Galaxy S8 and S8+’s fingerprint scanner at the back of the device, next to the camera. However, they may place it in the display for the Note 8. This will provide better accessibility for its users.
Moreover, others speculate that Samsung will officially unveil the phablet during the IFA Trade Show in Berlin in September. The talks surfaced due to the statement said by IFA Executive Director Jens Heithecker. He stated that the IFA event would be an ideal place for the Note 8’s launching.
Additionally, rumors have it that the Note 8 will come with a 6GB RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage. Also, either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or the Exynos 8895 chipset will power the upcoming gadget. The region will determine which processor is used on the unit.
