The long rumored Samsung Galaxy Note 6, or perhaps the Galaxy Note 7 or whatever it may end up being called as, would be released in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event this Aug. 2, as per a leaked promotional image that went online recently.
In a report by Sam Mobile, a photo of what seemed to be a promotional material for the upcoming Samsung event showed that it is teasing the arrival of the newest Galaxy product, speculated to be the Samsung Galaxy Note flagship. The event, called the Galaxy Unpacked 2016, will take place in New York during the said date.
Interestingly, aside from the alleged release date of the device, the purported promotional material also explicitly teased that the arrival of an “edge” variant, something fans and users can expect in the upcoming unveiling event.
In the past, it was tipped that Samsung had been testing the waters for a standard display variant of the upcoming flagship phablet versus a curved edge screen variant of it. It remains unknown if this curved edge variant would be the sole variant for the flagship phablet that would be released, or if it would only be the highlight of the event.
Another interesting part of the teaser is that it features an art that, somehow, resembles the number 7. While Samsung has not denied nor confirmed that the next flagship phablet from their Galaxy Note line would be called as the Galaxy Note 7, the way the alleged teaser was presented seems to strongly hint on the possibility of having the Note 7 moniker instead of the Note 6.
The new generation of the Samsung Galaxy Note flagship phablet has been a hot item in the rumor mill for a while now. Some of the rumored specs include an overclocked Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 chipset, 6 GB worth of random access memory (RAM), an iris scanner, a water resistant build, a USB Type-C port, and a 4,000 mAh battery all fitted in its 5.8-inch Quad HD display.
