However, Samsung may have chosen to be silent with the release of the long rumored Samsung Galaxy J1 2016.
With the device once hot on the rumor mill with a number of leaks, benchmark results, and render image leaks, the thread of speculations and rumors will now come to a stop, as the deviceit seemsis now official and is actually on sale in a number of retailers already in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
According to a report by GSM Arena, the new Samsung Galaxy J1 2016 was spotted on sale in a number of stores in Dubai recently. As per the photo tipped to the site, the new Galaxy J1 2016 can be bought in the country for a price of 499 UAE Dirhams or at least around $136 in the latest exchange rates. It is unknown if the device would still sport the same price should it get an international release sometime soon.
As for the specs, it was revealed that the new galaxy J1 2016 runs under a quad-core processorpossibly the Exynos 3475 chipsetclocking in at a speed of 1.3 GHz frequency. It sports a 4.5-inch display with an 800 x 400 pixels WVGA resolution. It packs 1 GB worth of RAM, along with 8 GB worth of built-in internal storage capacity. It was not specified if the device would be supporting an external microSD expansion.
As for the camera, it sports a 5-megapixel main rear camera and comes coupled with a 2-megapixel front facing snapper for selfies and similar functions.
It is powered by a 2,050 mAh battery, and boots on Android Lollipop 5.1.1. It supports 4G LTE connectivity.
