Samsung Galaxy A9: Device now available in China for $490


The new Samsung Galaxy A9the latest and biggest member of the newly launched 2016 versions of the Galaxy A line of smartphonesis now available for purchase in China as the price for the device has been finally revealed.

Initially launched by Samsung in the said country last month, the new Samsung Galaxy A9 smartphone has not been available for purchase yetuntil now. Now listed on the South Korean company’s Chinese website, the new Galaxy A9 can be purchased for a price of 3,199 Yuan or around $490 at current exchange rates.

However, it should be noted that the same price could not be expected for an international release. The device is also expected for a release in the U.S., following a recent certification from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission or the FCC, where every electronic device passes through before release.

To recall the specs, the new Samsung Galaxy A9 sports a 6-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1080p Full HD resolution. It is equipped with nearly bezel-less display with a mere 2.74 mm-wide bezels. The device runs under the Snapdragon 652 chipset, which was newly renamed from being called previously as the Snapdragon 620. It comes with an octa-core CPUa quad core 1.8GHz ARM Cortex A72, a quad core 1.2GHz A53e, and an Adreno 510 GPU. The Galaxy A9 also features a fingerprint scanner embedded on the home button, with support for Samsung Pay features.

The device packs 3GB RAM and 32GB of built-in internal storage, which can be expanded via an external microSD card expansion of up to 128GB.

As for the camera, it boasts of a 13-megapixel main rear camera with a S5K3L2 sensor and Optical Image Stabilization technology and LED flash. The front sports an 8-megapixel camera, with f/1.9 aperture.

The device is powered by 4,000 mAh battery with fast-charging features and boots on Android Lollipop 5.1.1. It is available in silver, gold, and pink.
