New on-set photos of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” have popped up online, and the fans can thank the “Star Wars” fan site Making Star Wars. The photos were taken from Empire magazine, and they showed the Rebels on the Jedi holy planet, Jedha.
The first photo shows Rebel pilot Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed) looking ahead, probably at Imperial forces. Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and Rebel Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) interact with the droid K-2SO (voiced by Alan Tudyk) in the next one. Jyn is also shown wearing fatigues while holding a blaster rifle in another image. The fourth photo shows Jyn and Cassian looking quite serious. Director Gareth Edwards is also shown in one of the photos discussing something with Luna and Jones.
Furthermore, there is a photo showing Jyn talking to the blind spiritual warrior Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen). This scene is probably their first interaction with each other. Meanwhile, Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen) is described as a freelance or rogue assassin in one of the images.
The final image shows Death Star security director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) in his white Imperial uniform. He makes a grand entrance while being flanked by two of the new black-clad Stormtroopers called Death Troopers.
The movie will also feature Mads Mikkelsen as Jyn’s father, Galen Erso. Jimmy Smits will return to portray Bail Organa, the character he previously played in two of the “Star Wars” prequels. Forest Whitaker will appear as Saw Gerrera, and Genevieve O’Reilly will play Mon Mothma for the second time. James Earl Jones is also back to voice Darth Vader.
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is the first Star Wars spin-off film. It will take place between “Revenge of the Sith” and “A New Hope.” The film is set to be released on Dec. 16.
