Even before her appearance in “Riverdale,” Molly Ringwald is already an Archie fan.
“I loved Archie growing up,” Ringwald revealed to Entertainment Tonight. “I was always really interested, you know, ‘Am I more Betty or am I more Veronica? What am I gonna be like when I grow up?’ but it turns out I’m Archie’s mom,” she added.
Ringwald appeared in the tenth episode of the teen drama series as Mary, the long-lost mother of Archie (K.J. Apa). Fred (Luke Perry) flew to Chicago to finalize his divorce, but he returned home with his wife, much to their son’s surprise.
“Luke is, I think he might be the nicest actor I have ever worked with. I mean, he is so nice, he’s so charming,” Ringwald described her costar.
The red-head star even had a “weird” connection with the veteran actor.
“Years ago, I got a pig and ended up moving to Paris… and it turned out that Luke Perry had a ranch and he adopted my pig,” she recounted.
Meanwhile, in the latest episode, Archie rekindled his relationship with Mary, who’s also trying to work out her marriage with Fred.
Elsewhere, Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) father, F.P. (Skeet Ulrich), was arrested after the police found a gun in his trailer. They accused him of killing Jason Blossom (Trevor Stines).
However, Polly (Tiera Skovbye) and Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) found Jason’s engagement ring in Penelope’s (Nathalie Boltt) jewelry box. The latter claimed that her son threw the ring after arguing with his father.
In the next episode, Penelope denies the murder of Jason while Jughead’s father stayed in jail. Archie, Betty (Lili Reinhart), and Veronica (Camila Mendes) speculate that someone framed F.P.
Also, they stumble upon a video which could be the key to solving the case.
“Riverdale” will continue on May 4 on The CW.
