Set for release on November 10, 2015, Crystal Dynamic’s “Rise of the Tomb Raider” for Xbox 360 and Xbox One has already earned positive reviews from game reviewers.
On the game’s official website, the sequel to the 2013 reboot revolves around Lara Croft as she ventures to her first tomb raiding mission to look for the secret of immortality. The game features extensively designed environments and exciting yet very challenging missions.
Nathan Ingraham of Engadget writes, “Rise of the Tomb Raider strikes a nice balance between driving the story forward and allowing players the time to explore areas for secret items as well as the titular tombs players felt were missing a bit from the first game. There are definitely more side quests, and the ones I tried felt a lot more challenging than the ones in the first Tomb Raider.”
According to IGN, unlike “Tomb Raider” which was released on March 5, 2013, the sequel features more tombs to raid. In fact, during the demo, the game’s main character, Lara Croft, had to locate the Pharaoh’s Tomb. In that mission, traps, puzzles, and various clues had to be solved by the player. The more gruesome scenes and possible deaths make this installment better than other third-person adventure games.
The three-hour demo of the game also gives gamers a look at how the menu looks. Game Spot reports that it is designed after Lara’s desk that she got from her father who already passed away. There are stacks of books, and the wall is littered with torn book pages, news clippings, maps, and notes. This highlights the goal of the main character to accomplish her father’s work as a tomb raider.
“Rise of the Tomb Raider” is available for pre-order now from the Microsoft Store and other retailers such as Amazon, Game Stop, Best Buy, and Walmart. Price starts at $59.99.
