Fans of “Rick and Morty” were already excited for season 3 after the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 trailer was released.
Now, it looks like the anticipation for the third season of the Adult Swim series is heating up even more, thanks to a couple of tweets posted on the show’s official Twitter account in the past week.
This image suggests that viewers won’t be seeing Rick Sanchez in Morty Smith’s garage at the start of the season since Rick is supposed to be in prison after the end of season 2.
According to Mobile & Apps, this is a concept art of a new character called Gromflomite Prison General. This character may be one of the prison generals in the jail that Rick is staying in. A sketch of Rick and Morty looking scared is also there on the left side.
While talking with Den of Geek a month ago, show co-creator Dan Harmon revealed that he does not want the third season to spend too much time dealing with Rick’s situation, so Rick will probably find himself free pretty soon.
Meanwhile, Adult Swim recently posted the schedule of “Rick and Morty” season 3 on their Instagram account, but it was deleted immediately. However, this did not stop fans from taking screenshots of the post, and an image of the post appeared on Imgur for all to see.
The post says that a teaser for “Rick and Morty” season 3 will air Friday night at 12:15 a.m. EDT. Unfortunately, the exact date that the teaser will air was not mentioned. Some fans believe that this could be a hoax, since the image does not show anything new.
Sources also say that someone probably posted it by mistake since the creators of the show have announced that they are delaying the show to improve it further.
Rumors also say that Rick and Morty will meet Vin Diesel in the third season, and the show will probably premiere in the last quarter of the year.
