'Rick and Morty' season 3 release date: To be released in early 2017? Rick will get out of jail quickly

Speculations regarding the release of the third season of Adult Swim’s animated series “Rick and Morty” are gaining traction with the news that the voice actors have started recording for the premiere episode.

As previously reported, writer Mike McMahan took it to Twitter to share that the production team has been burning the midnight oil to finish the development of the show. He first posted an image of the voice actors and followed it days after with the script for the first installment while teasing that they will begin recording the premiere.

McMahan also stated back in December that he has started writing for the follow up narrative. With a little more than two and a half months later and new episodes coming to life, it seems like the predicted schedule for the release on early 2017 may come to fruition.

Meanwhile, as the show continuously take shape, there are hearsays that the plot may feature the comeback of some old characters such as Mr. Meeseeks, Snowball in Dog World, and even Evil Eyepatch Morty. The touted ‘Big Secret’ may also finally be revealed. The latter is suggested to be the big bad for the upcoming new season.

Rick is also expected to get out of the jail quickly with creator Dan Harmon teasing that they do not want to spend so much time with plots they have set up in previous run, “I don’t think anybody wants to do a third season that simply spends a whole bunch of episodes dealing with a situation that we created at the end of the second season. So, I think that’s a non-spoiler way of saying things should be okay pretty quickly,” he said.

With show co-creators Harmon and Justin Roiland keeping mum about the third season of “Rick and Morty,” available information should be taken with a grain of salt.
