'Rick and Morty' season 3 release news: Raw cut debuts at the San Diego Comic-Con

The first look at “Rick and Morty” season 3 came a little bit early when showrunners Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland brought a clip as a treat for the San Diego Comic-Con attendees.

People attending the panel saw a very raw version of the animated show, which was also recently published online. Nevertheless, it did not escape fans to pick up some things from the video. Rick appears to be trying to escape a laboratory but unfortunately stumbles upon a pack of lab rats. And being as innovative as he is, he creates a body suit made out of rat organs and proceeds to slice any other rodent coming his way from then on. The humor, at least from the short sneak peek, was still definitely coming across despite the lack of colors and finished animation.

Aside from the preview, Harmon and Roiland were also asked about the voice actors on their wish list for this coming season. The latter straightforwardly replied, “It was David Bowie for the past two seasons, but sadly that won’t happen now. Dom DeLuise I think would be nice, or Gary Coleman.” The former, on the other hand, had only one actor in mind.

“I just want to meet Vin Diesel. I know he plays D&D [‘Dungeons and Dragons’] so I just want to have a conversation with him about doing it,” Harmon revealed.

However, for fans hoping that with the current development, “Rick and Morty” season 3 would have a rollout next month, Harmon says to not hold their breaths for it. The writer, in a previous interview with Paste Magazine, slammed the rumors.

“That I can squash. I don’t see any parallel universe where August is a possibility,” he said. “We’re a while from being able to give a hard date. Part of that is just that we’re still figuring it out as we work over here… And the other part of it is that it’s not our right to say because the network has their own strategies.”

Given this, loyalists can most likely get their hands on “Rick and Morty” season 3 sometime early next year.
