Dan Harmon, co-creator of the hit animated TV series “Rick and Morty,” recently debunked rumors regarding the release date of the much awaited new season of the Adult Swim series. According to him, there are still number of things that need to be considered before they are even able to give out a concrete release date.
The rumor mill had repeatedly reported in the past and had been continuing on reporting such that the upcoming third season of the “Rick and Morty” would be finally released for fans to watch sometime around August of this year. The rumored release date had been reported repeatedly by various websites that it started to appear like an official information already.
In a recent interview with Paste Magazine, Harmon stated that there is no grain of truth to the circulating reports that claim to have revealed that the new season would be coming to Cartoon Network this August.
“That I can squash. I don’t see any parallel universe where August is a possibility,” Harmon said.
The show co-creator also discussed why they are not yet able to give out a release date until now, despite the fact that production for the new season has been going on for quite some time now. One reason is that they would not be the main entity responsible for determining when to release the new season.
“We’re a while from being able to give a hard date. Part of that is just that we’re still figuring it out as we work over here,” Harmon continued. “And the other part of it is that it’s not our right to say because the network has their own strategies.”
As fans wait for season 3, the second season of “Rick and Morty” is now available for purchase via digital download, on DVD, and on Blu-ray.
