'Resident Evil 4' release date for PS4 has been announced


The newest installment in the “Resident Evil” franchise won’t be released until 2017. However, there is a special treat for fans of the franchise since “Resident Evil 4” will be relaunching soon on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Capcom has already announced the release date of the game and it is sooner than expected.

Capcom has been re-releasing past installments of the franchise for the more advanced consoles in celebration of the 20<sup>th anniversary of “Resident Evil.” Two games in the franchise have already been relaunched on the two consoles “Resident Evil 6” was released back in March, and the remastered version of “Resident Evil 5” was released last week.

Capcom has already made the official announcement that “Resident Evil 4” will be released on Aug. 30. There already details with regard to the pricing of the video game, like in the North American region, the game will cost $19.99. Meanwhile, in Europe, the game is priced at 19.99 euros.

The sixth main entry in the franchise features Leon Kennedy, who was also one of the main characters in “Resident Evil 2.” The story takes place somewhere in Europe in order to rescue the U.S. president’s daughter, Ashley Graham, Kennedy must face a mysterious cult called Los Illuminados.

When the game is purchased by players, there will be additional content included as well. The game will include the Mercenaries arcade mode and Ada Wong’s story perspective.

“Resident Evil 4” was considered as the beginning of a new era for the franchise since it offered many challenging scenarios, as well as a different kind of gameplay. It was originally released for the GameCube in 2005 and was ported to the PlayStation 2 sometime later.

Fans may revisit “Resident Evil 4” while waiting for the release of “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.” The horror action video game will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Aug. 30.
