'Reign' season 3 spoilers: Mary teams up with Catherine to defeat vigilante group in episode 13; Torrance Coombs to exit the show

Mary (Adelaide Kane), joins forces with Catherine (Megan Follows) in order to get rid of the dangerous vigilante group known as the “Red Knights” in brand new “Reign.”

The Queen of Scotland inadvertently put Gideon’s (Ben Geurens) life in danger as she tries to keep Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) from harm’s way. Because of this, she had to make amends and try to correct her mistake by keeping both Gideon and Elizabeth from the dangers that are haunting them.

Gideon, on the other hand, embarks on his own crusade to keep Elizabeth safe from assassination plots against her from the Vatican.

Meanwhile, an extended teaser clip for the episode titled “Strange Bedfellows,” shows Catherine asking Mary for help. She admits to her former daughter-in-law that the vigilante group called the “Red Knights ” is hot on her tails, thus she is looking for an alliance to defeat them.

Elsewhere in the episode, Bash (Torrance Coombs) works his way to uncover who is threatening Catherine. Unfortunately, his time to protect Catherine is reportedly limited as Coombs is scheduled to exit the show after season 3. The Australian actor was cast in the ABC show “Still Star-Crossed,” where he will play Count Paris, the main villain of the show. The drama is going to be part of the growing “Shondaland” franchise, which includes “Scandal,” “How to Get Away with Murder” and “Grey’s Anatomy”

Kane told TV Line that despite being unhappy about Coombs leaving, Bash’s story will be concluded in a tasteful way.

“It’s a bummer, but Bash doesn’t have a lot of traction in Scotland,” the actress shared. “His storyline soon will come to its conclusion, and his character has other avenues to explore that might not necessarily be on screen.”

The official synopsis for the episode from The Futon Critic reads, “Mary in order to protect Elizabeth unknowingly puts Gideon’s life in danger. To save him, Mary turns to another Englishman for help – Robert Dudley (Charlie Carrick). Meanwhile, Bash is determined to track down the men behind the threats to Catherine.”

“Reign” season 3 airs every Monday night, 8 P.M. EST on The CW.
