'Red Dead Redemption 2' release date: may land Q4 2016; announcement at E3 in June?

Fans are still waiting for the launch of “Red Dead Redemption 2,” especially since it has been six years since “Red Dead Redemption” was released. Despite the lack of announcement, many still believe that the next iteration for the title will be coming this year, with new rumors pointing to a June announcement at the E3 event.

According to Master Herald, Take-Two Interactive, the distributor of the title, recently conducted a quarter earnings review where they revealed their position as a company for the past year, as well as their several plans for this year.

The company shared that they will be releasing high quality games this year, including the next “NBA 2K” series, “WWE 2K,” “Battleborn,” and a new Triple-A title.

Take-Two Interactive also revealed that in terms of financial standings, it did well last year, owed still to the sales from “GTA V” even if the title was released in 2013, as well as “GTA Online.” Although “GTA 6” may already be in the works, it is unlikely to have a launch date this year. With this, speculations point to “Red Dead Redemption 2” as the possible Triple-A title that the company is referring to.

There are rumors that “Red Dead Redemption 2” will be announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) event from June 14 to 16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California. After which, the title may be released to the market around the fourth quarter of the year, most likely in October.

As always, fans will still have to take this with a grain of salt as the company has not officially announced its plans. Meanwhile, other titles that may also be announced at the same event include a sequel for “Max Payne” and “L.A. Noire.”

Will “Red Dead Redemption 2” finally hit the shelves this year? Fans will still have to wait for a few months to find out.
