'Real Housewives of Potomac' preview: Reality show off to a decent start; drama between Karen and Gizelle continues

New addition to Bravo’s line of reality show, ” Real Housewives of Potomac,” is off to a good start as it received a warm welcome from the viewers with its debut episode that tackled a lesson in etiquette.

According to TV by the Numbers, the show ranked number seven among the 100 most watched cable shows for Sunday, Jan. 17. It was watched by more than two million viewers and got a rating of 0.9 among adults of 18 to 49 demographics.

Meanwhile, for next week’s episode, the narrative is expected to pick up from the premiere where Karen Huger has taught fellow co-star Gizelle Bryant the do’s and don’t of high class society. They will also be introduced to a newcomer in the show.

During episode 1, Charisse Jackson Jordan decided to throw Karen a surprise party for her birthday with the help of the other ladies. However, during dinner, Gizelle made a mistake when she sat on the chair meant for the celebrant. Instead of calling her out, Karen decided to talk to Gizelle the following day.

Presumably to make sure that Karen had Gizelle’s anttention, she even printed out five rules of how to conduct oneself when someone else is attending a party. She even framed it as a gift.

“If I care about you and I feel that your conduct is inappropriate, as a friend I will gently point you in the right direction,” Karen said on her blog.

Gazelle seemed unaffected by what happened and wrote on her post, “Karen giving me a gift that was petty, unnecessary, poor etiquette, and bad judgement wasn’t a problem for me. As I examined it further it turned out to be all the things that I love… pretty, shiny and a mirror. Please tell me who doesn’t like to check their lipstick?!?!?!”

The next installment is predicted to continue the drama between them as Gizelle’s reputation will be questioned by Karen along with Charisse. With the tension rising among the women, they will meet another housewife Ashley Darby who is described to be the youngest in the group and married to Australian real-estate millionaire Michael Darby who is 29 years her senior.

New episode titled “Divas, Queens and Bubbles” is slated to air on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 9 P.M.
