The new season of “The Real Housewives of New York” also means a fresh start for Dorinda Medley.

“It’s like giving birth. You end filming in March and you’re so horrified and exhausted and then it premieres and you watch it and there’s a resolution,” Medley shared to Vulture.

The reality star first appeared in the seventh season of the show as one of the main cast members. She worked alongside Ramona Singer, Luann D’Agostino, Bethenny Frankel, Sonja Morgan, Carole Radziwill, Heather Thomson, and Kristen Taekman.

Medley admitted that the previous season was rough for her as a novice. She stated that after her husband, Richard, passed away, she had become more sensitive, protective, and reactive. She could not handle the drama well.

However, in the current season, she finally feels comfortable with the camera, as well as dealing with her costars.

“I feel like I understand the girls and have established some strong friendships among them. I was hesitant because I had a rough, dark year,” she went on to say. Medley also said she felt “excited to get back together with them and work through what we had to work through.”

Medley also opened up about her feud with Morgan. She asserted that Morgan did not communicate with her nor responded to her invitation all summer.

Nevertheless, they got to see each other again in October. Medley confirmed that she and Morgan worked through their conflict and started talking again. She learned that they have more similarities than differences.

“We’re both empty nesters and we’re in a transition phase in our lives and we didn’t think we were going to be where we are now,” said the Bravo star.

As for her relationship with D’Agostino, Medley expressed that she was happy being the bridesmaid on her wedding day. She feels that her costar and Tom D’Agostino, Jr. are in-love.

The next episode of “The Real Housewives of New York City” season 9 will air on May 3 on Bravo TV.
