PS Plus free games July 2015: Sony announces free games for PS Plus members for July, PS4 titles include 'Entwined', 'Mousecraft' and 'Rocket League'

Sony starts the month of July with a bang with the announcement of this month’s lineup of games for free download via its exclusive membership-based PlayStation Plus service.

According to an entry in the official PlayStation Blog, Sony will be offering for free download four PlayStation 4 games, along with one title each for PlayStation 3 and the PS Vita, to the members of its exclusive PS Plus service beginning Tuesday, July 7.

The downloads will be available to members in Europe and North America, the International Business Times (IB Times) said.

Ryan Clements, social media specialist at the PlayStation Blog, revealed the four PlayStation 4 titles as Rocket League, Styx: Master of Shadows, Mousecraft and Entwined. The list is completed by Rain for the PlayStation 3 and Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved for the PS Vita.

The Latinos Post described Rocket League as a “sports game” that allows players to use cars to perform aerial tasks and acrobatics to score points as well as destroy other vehicles in the arena. Clements on the PlayStation blog added that the game will feature a cameo by Sweet Tooth, the iconic ice cream truck from the Twisted Metal Franchise.

On the other hand, Steam said that “Styx: Master of Shadows” is a stealth-based role-playing game (RPG) that lets players take control of a 200-year-old Goblin named Styx. The gaming service described the third title, Mousecraft, as a puzzle-solving game that will require players to use their wits to guide mice to get more cheese.

The last game on the list, Entwined, is described by the IB Times as a “Romeo and Juliet” type of game where the player has to guide two souls that are not meant to be together to finally reunite after different lifetimes.

Sony’s major competitor, Microsoft, is also offering a similar service to members of its exclusive Xbox Live Gold as part of its second anniversary.

According to Game Spot, Microsoft is offering Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and So Many Me on the Xbox One, together with Plants vs Zombies and Gears of War 3 for the Xbox 360, free for download for the month of July.
